PROSPECTUS APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY
ELIGIBILITY
The ideal Prospectus candidate is actively engaged with cultural creation and is dedicated to growing their curatorial practice in a collaborative environment.
All individuals over 21 years of age are eligible to apply. Applicants must be located in the Pittsburgh region and able to attend all scheduled sessions and commit a minimum of ten to fifteen hours per month throughout the program duration.
Applications will be evaluated based upon the strength of concept, feasibility for the time and space provided, potential impact of the program on applicant’s curatorial career, and alignment with Brew House Arts’ values. Previous curation of an exhibition is not required.
Underrepresented candidates, including black and non-black people of color, people with disabilities, and people who identify as LGBTQ+, are encouraged to apply. Collectives or collaborative submissions are eligible to submit for up to two individuals working together. For collaborative applications, curator honorarium will be split evenly among participants.
*Individuals considering applying to both Distillery & Prospectus must select one program for which to apply each season. Individuals selected to participate in the Prospectus program will be ineligible to participate in BHA’s Distillery program simultaneously. Previous Prospectus participants are not eligible to reapply.
*All program participants must agree to the Brew House Arts Community Agreements.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
All program participants must be able to:
- Attend all workshops and complete any assigned tasks
- Oversee the selection of artwork & development of an exhibition checklist
- Communicate directly with artists or artist representatives to secure artwork for exhibition
- Oversee the floorplan and installation of your exhibition
- Oversee the scheduling for delivery of artwork to the Brew House Gallery
- Complete all assigned exhibition texts
- Attend exhibition opening reception
- Develop and participate in public programs such as a curator tour and/ or artist talk
- Communicate professionally with artists, Brew House staff, and mentors
FEES & STIPENDS
The program awards selected curators with a $2,500 stipend for program participation. Honorarium will be paid in three parts direct to curators.
In addition to honorarium which is paid directly to curators, the program provides financial support for pre-approved exhibition production expenses including promotional support, catalog design & printing, opening reception costs, exhibition photography, artwork production costs, artist stipends, and artwork transit. There is no fee to apply.

January 2025 – November 2025: Professional development & exhibition planning period
November 20, 2025 – January 17, 2026 : Exhibition 1
February 5, – April 4, 2026 : Exhibition 2
