One Year, One Outfit

September 13 – October 18, 2025

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:

One Year, One Outfit is a cohort-based project that responds to consumerism and the damaging effects of fast fashion. Folks who reside in the Rust Belt Fibershed region (within 250 miles of Cleveland) create an outfit through a soil-to-soil supply chain: fiber and dyes are grown, harvested, and made into a garment, and all garments are able to return to the soil at the end of their life cycle.

This exhibition showcases the completed works from over 32 artists who created 27 distinctive outfits as part of the latest One Year, One Outfit challenge, presenting a powerful visual narrative about sustainable fashion, regional resources, and community collaboration. Each piece in the exhibition represents a year-long journey of sourcing, creating, and crafting garments using only materials found within the Rust Belt Fibershed region.

Featuring Abby Sherrill, Amy Garbark, Beth Lucius, Brette Soucie, Cara Randall, Courtney Phillips, Dara Pond, Debbie Christensen, Emily Rouse, Gretchen Graff, Hannah Sorboro, Isaac Coblentz, Kathy Mcconaughy, Kati Jackson, Katie Warren, Katy Dement, Kayla Ault, Kelcey Saunders, Laura SanBoeuf Paris, Lauren Brush, Lizzie Essi, Margaret Sankey, Melanie McClintock, Miriam Bennett, Nicole Forster, Ryan Carpenter, Sally Erickson Wilson, Sara Guren, Sarah Silk, and Steve Lucius.

ABOUT THE RUST BELT FIBERSHED:
