One Year, One Outfit: Opening Reception
The Rust Belt Fibershed presents “One Year, One Outfit” a cohort-based project that responds to consumerism and the damaging effects of fast fashion. Folks who reside in the Rust Belt Fibershed region (within 250 miles of Cleveland) create an outfit through a soil-to-soil supply chain: fiber and dyes are grown, harvested, and made into a garment, and all garments are able to return to the soil at the end of their life cycle. The project aims to create a paradigm shift towards relating to the Earth and our communities with care and is organized by the Rust Belt Fibershed as an invitation for us to question the origin of our clothes.
Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, September 13, from 12-2 pm. The reception is open to the public and free to attend.
