Brew House Open Studios & Studio Sale
October 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeOn Saturday October 19, from 1-4 pm, the Brew House Arts studio doors will be open to the public—come see what happens behind the scenes at Brew House!
Aside from our exhibitions, Brew House Arts is also home to two floors of artist studios. The Distillery Emerging Artist Residency is a year-long studio residency program designed to help seven Pittsburgh-based emerging artists transition into a professional artistic career. This year’s artists-in-residence are Allison Lemon, Karen Lue, Shyann Maragh, Mathias Rushin, Lisa Toboz, Ajunie Virk, and London Williams. Come get to know our Distillery artists and get a sneak peek at the what they’re working leading up to their exhibition in April 2025.
Our Creative Cluster artist studios are open work spaces that are home to professional artists who work in painting, photography, installation, jewelry, and more. At our Open Studio and Studio Sale event you’ll have the opportunity to buy unique works of art directly from the artist that you won’t find anywhere else.
The Art of Democracy will be on view in our gallery. Presented in collaboration with Keystone Progress Education Fund and CDCP, The Art of Democracy demonstrates the integral role that artists play in a healthy democracy. The exhibition looks to explore ways that artists and activists are using their voices, working in direct collaboration with communities, and harnessing collective power to move us towards a more just and liberated world. Pole-2-Polls will also be in the gallery making Vote! signs. Stop by to trace, cut, and assemble your own yard sign—take one home with you to encourage everyone to vote. Everything will be provided, and no skills necessary.
Check out our Open Studios page for participating artists and Building Maps.
