Join All Bodies Welcome Yoga for Yoga for Larger Bodies! This event will include a 45 minute gentle yoga class followed by an optional 45 minute tour of the exhibition, SOMA GROSSA.
This gentle, 45 minute class will include plenty of options to accommodate larger bodies, and different kinds of mobility. Together we will practice accessible movement and mindfulness, and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Beginners welcome! Please plan to bring a yoga mat or towel, and wear something you feel comfortable moving in. Chairs will be available as well for optional seated yoga.

All Bodies Welcome Yoga is a hybrid virtual and pop up studio that teaches folks to unlock their own body’s wisdom through movement and mindfulness. Every class offers safe, accessible postures, personalization with props, and guided breath work and meditation. Instructor Emily Anderson centers those who live with chronic illnesses, pain, or fatigue, people with limited mobility, fat people, and anyone who wants to practice yoga outside of diet culture. Emily holds a 200 hour yoga teacher training certification, as well as certifications in Accessible Yoga and Chair Yoga. Learn more about ABWY here.
This event is presented in collaboration with Pittsburgh Fatties Social Club, a community led group with three goals: provide social meet ups for fat folks in Pittsburgh, establish references for fat friendly medical and service providers, and create/amplify mutual aid opportunities in our community.
